Marielle Canter Weikel leads Conservation International’s (CI) program engaging multinational oil and gas, and mining companies in developing more sustainable environmental policies and strategies. Prior to joining CI, Ms. Canter Weikel worked as an environmental, health, and safety consultant, and held numerous positions in the public policy and government arenas. She holds a Master’s of environmental management degree from Duke University and B.A. in government and in environmental studies from the College of William and Mary. She also sits on the advisory board for the Water Risk & Strategy Working Group at 2degrees Network and on the grants committee of the Catonsville Women’s Giving Circle.
