Building routes to economic growth and prosperity

The roads, bridges, ports and city developments that our customers envision have one thing in common: they are committed to creating inclusive societies with stronger economies and opportunities for growth.

We have had the privilege of seeing first-hand the impact of these civil infrastructure projects  – lifting communities out of poverty by overcoming the physical barriers to basic utilities; linking businesses to key trade routes; helping optimize region-wide infrastructure plans to return the immediate, long-term benefits for local people.

Over the decades our teams have supported transformational civil programmes. Our customers in Eastern Europe are modernizing their roads to boost connectivity and trade across the region and beyond. Across Africa, nationwide infrastructure programmes are plans focused on the greatest socio-economic return. In the Gulf, urban developments from scratch have turbocharged the economy, for example Jubail Industrial City which accounts for aboutseven percent of Saudi Arabia’s GDP.

Around the world customers trust us to bring the best engineering minds, the most advanced tools and innovation, and unparalleled global experience to deliver:

  • Strategic roads and bridges, with a sharp focus on economic growth and long-term sustainability
  • Marine infrastructure and ports, working closely with our customer and stakeholders to ensure they are benefitting from the commercial and regulatory regimes
  • Master-planning and infrastructure development to help our customers bring ambitious concepts to life, ranging from free-trade zones to entire regions requiring roads, bridges, ports, utilities, communications and residential areas

As a member of the Smart Cities Council, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and the influential Business Roundtable, Bechtel is sharing the benefits of our experience of planning, financing and finding sustainable solutions.
