Safety analyses supporting commercial nuclear, advanced nuclear, and nuclear security

Bechtel’s Nuclear Safety Center of Excellence (NSCE) leverages the best practices, lessons learned, tools, and processes from Bechtel’s 60+ years of nuclear safety service to customers on commercial and government projects—and adds the talents of our world class engineers and technical specialists—to provide industry-leading nuclear safety expertise and capabilities across a wide array of government and commercial nuclear projects around the world.

The NSCE provides nuclear engineering expertise in the areas of

  • nuclear facility hazard evaluation,
  • accident analysis,
  • radiation protection,
  • nuclear facility licensing, and
  • criticality safety

Our industry-recognized nuclear safety experts are proficient with industry-leading nuclear safety processes and computer codes. Our people have extensive experience in licensing, nuclear safety analysis, and radiation protection for both commercial and government nuclear projects, including existing reactor and advanced reactor technologies (Gen III+/IV, small modular reactors, non-light water designs) and U.S. Department of Energy nuclear facilities

Since the inception of the nuclear industry in the 1950s, Bechtel has been and continues to be a world leader in nuclear development, design, and construction.
