Bechtel innovator recognized for professional achievements and dedication to community

ENR names Christine Knox-Thoms one of Texas & Louisiana’s Top Young Professionals

Christine Knox-Thoms, innovation manager for Bechtel’s Energy business unit, was named one of ENR Texas & Louisiana’s Top Professionals for 2022. Knox-Thoms was recognized for her professional achievements in working with Bechtel customers in energy and petrochemicals industries to improve cost, efficiency, sustainability and digital delivery on their facilities, as well as for her dedication to the community she lives in.

"Christine exemplifies our collaborative approach in supporting our customers to deliver impactful projects. I am proud at the way she applied that same approach and her passion to working with Greentown Labs in Houston, relentlessly supporting the city's technology community develop decarbonization solutions."

Knox-Thoms has joined Bechtel in 2020 after almost two decades serving the EPC industry in developing innovative solutions and integrating innovation into business strategy. At Bechtel, she has focused on developing integrated digital solutions, new market offerings, and efficiency improvements in the energy business. She has championed Bechtel's engagement with Greentown Labs in Houston where she leads the management committee advancing decarbonization solutions and sustainability goals in the industry. She is a member of the United Way Women's Initiative, the Women's Energy Network and the National Charity League Texas Laurels chapter, where she chairs its Meals on Wheels program and volunteers with her teenage daughter. Knox-Thoms holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Advertising from the University of Texas, Austin, and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.

ENR Regionals' Top Young Professionals competition is the annual regional program honoring outstanding young construction and design professionals in the United States. To be eligible, nominees must be working full time in some aspect of the commercial construction industry in the appropriate region, and must be 40 or under.
