Bechtel’s Impact Report

GasTech 2022

Corpus Christ LNG

Driving toward a cleaner energy future

Gastech Exhibition & Conference | Fiera Milano, Italy | 5-8 September 2022
See you at booth 11G21!

  • Energy transition

  • Staying Solutions Focused

Craig Albert, president and COO at Bechtel, discusses the evolving energy industry and how companies can overcome challenges in the supply chain and workforce pipeline in this two-part series from Gastech 2022.

As a silver sponsor of this year’s event—Gastech’s 50th year—we are proud to be associated with an event that recognizes the future impact of the actions we take today.

By embracing the challenge and driving toward cleaner energy, together, we can create a sustained legacy that moves through LNG to the next phase of energy access and security for the global community.

We look forward to reconnecting with contacts and strengthening existing relationships, meeting some of you for the first time and building partnerships, and participating in this critical conversation.

Visit us in booth 11G21.

The decarbonization challenge

Energy companies have developed considerable carbon reduction targets to face the climate change challenge head on, but meeting or exceeding the terms of the Paris Climate Agreement can be very complex.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Goals are met by implementing a range of design, technology, construction, and operations solutions.

Accurately determining the cost/benefit impacts when planning a project design or retrofitting an existing facility is key to a successful improvement program.

Bechtel is helping our customers reach their decarbonization goals. Learn more here.

Partners in progress

Our customers’ projects are an investment in the future.

They are delivering projects of purpose that create lasting positive legacies. Projects that create jobs and grow economies; improve the resiliency of the world's infrastructure; connect communities to resources and opportunity; get us closer to net zero; tackle critical environmental challenges to protect people and the planet; and accelerate progress.

We are proud to be part of shaping our future energy landscape.

Cleaner energy by design

LNG is the most effective transitional fuel during the energy transition, and our specialized LNG services support customers at every stage, from increasing access to renewable energy to decarbonizing existing infrastructure.

Corpus Christi Liquefaction

As the first greenfield LNG export facility in the U.S. in nearly 50 years, CCL supports Cheniere Energy’s mission to provide clean, secure, and affordable energy to the world. CCL was built eight months ahead of schedule, and even amid challenges such as a global pandemic, Cheniere and Bechtel embraced innovation, improving processes, and using new technologies.

The resulting LNG success story for Cheniere has yielded six trains on Sabine Pass and three trains on the Corpus Christi Liquefaction project across nine years for a total of ~45 MTPA and more than 2,100 cargoes of LNG.

Our collaboration continues with the construction of Corpus Christi Stage 3, which consists of seven mid-scale (~10 MTPA combined capacity) liquefaction trains and associated facilities and utilities. When complete, this expansion will help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

Reliable access

Communities worldwide are struggling to maintain reliable energy solutions. While having a diverse energy portfolio—including renewables—is critical to ensure sustainable power, so is the ability to have immediate access to energy to meet demand when renewal options are offline. This makes LNG such a critical component to the world’s strategy in transitioning to renewable energy.

We assist and enable our customers to deliver a range of storage solutions for LNG that creates essential access to on-demand energy. This allows energy providers to purchase and store gas when LNG prices are low to maintain an affordable energy supply.
