Equinix IBX facilities will enable customers to improve the performance and reliability of their e-commerce sites and make it possible for them to integrate services from multiple providers under neutral conditions and more favorable pricing. The facilities will measure tens of thousands of square feet and will be geared to supporting critical aspects of Internet business transactions with such features as scalability of infrastructure, multilevel financial-grade security, increased reliability, diversity and choice among Internet service providers, and complete operational neutrality.

Bechtel will manage the entire buildout, evaluating sites and existing buildings, providing engineering and design services, procuring materials and equipment, managing construction, and supporting start-up.
