Becon was recognized with this top honor Thursday, during the 11th Annual Texas Workforce Conference employer awards’ luncheon. The nomination praised Becon for its efforts in the Golden Triangle area, specifically its partnerships with the local communities and educational institutions to train and employ the local workforce.
“The entire Becon family is extremely proud to be named Texas’ top employer. It is a tremendous honor to be recognized, especially when we consider all the other great work other employers are doing statewide,” says Tim Horst, President of Becon. “We have worked very hard with the Texas Workforce Commission and other agencies toward our common goal of developing and maintaining a highly skilled and employable local workforce in southeast Texas.”
Becon is currently involved as primary construction contractor for the recently announced Motiva Port Arthur Refinery Expansion, and anticipates hiring more than 3,500 people for the project.
“Texas business expansion is driving tremendous growth in the construction industry, and with projects across Texas, Becon Construction supports our strong economy,” said TWC Chair Diane Rath. “We’re pleased that this exemplary company recognizes the value of resources, services, and skills’ training available through the Texas workforce system.”
