Bechtel Quotes
Bechtel National President Thomas F. Hash comments on those involved in the changes:John T. Mitchell: "John has done a superb job during his three-year tenure with Bechtel Nevada. Our performance there, as judged by our customer, has been consistently improving. Because of John's leadership, such initiatives as the labor alliance agreement were implemented, safety awareness at the Nevada Test Site is at an all-time high, we have maintained a generally disciplined operation on the project, and Bechtel's relationship with our customer is as good as it has ever been. I would point out that Bechtel's current contract at NTS, which was scheduled to expire December 31, 2000, was recently extended to September 30, 2005. John will undoubtedly be a big help to us in his new post, as he helps us evaluate where and how we might expand our footprint in the Department of Defense market."
Steven D. Liedle: "Steve has successfully advanced our Hanford organization while establishing a tradition of excellence in customer relations that will undoubtedly carry over to his new responsibilities in Nevada. He is exceptionally good at team building, which is one of the essential components of success on any project."
Michael C. Hughes: "Mike has successfully moved through positions of increasing responsibility at Bechtel while establishing himself as both a team builder and consensus builder. Through it all, he has maintained an excellent relationship with our client. It's a delight to have him now leading the operation."
Thomas E. Logan: "Tom is a first-rate, seasoned project manager. He knows the Bechtel organization very well and doesn't hesitate to call on the resources we can offer. He challenges himself to give his best and helps others to excel. He and Mike will make a very effective leadership team."
