The president of Bechtel’s nuclear business line, Greg Ashley, has been elected to the Nuclear Energy Institute’s Board of Directors and executive committee, which sets broad policy for the industry. The Institute’s mission is to promote the beneficial uses of nuclear energy and technologies in the United States and around the world.
“We welcome Greg Ashley of Bechtel to NEI’s Board of Directors and its executive committee,” said Marv Fertel, the Nuclear Energy Institute’s president and chief executive officer. “Greg’s tremendous experience and leadership qualities will undoubtedly be an important asset as the organization sets policy for the industry. We look forward to working with Greg in his new role with NEI.”

Bechtel has been an active member of NEI since its inception in 1994. The company’s technical specialists and nuclear experts help shape policy for eight NEI Task Forces, including Seismic, Control Room Habitability, Combined Operating Licenses, Emergency Preparedness, Early Site Permit, New Plant Security, Small Modular Reactor Security, and Small Modular Reactor Licensing.
Bechtel has served the nuclear power market for more than 60 years, providing nuclear design, construction, and operating plant support for more than 150 nuclear power plants worldwide.
