National Cleanup Workshop 2026

The National Cleanup Workshop is hosted by the Energy Communities Alliance (ECA) with the cooperation of the Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG) and the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management (EM) bringing together more than 750 senior DOE executives, officials from DOE sites, industry leaders, local elected officials, and other stakeholders to discuss the progress DOE-EM is making to address the environmental legacy of the Manhattan Project and Cold War-era U.S. nuclear weapons program.

Bechtel at National Cleanup Workshop 2026

The following Bechtel colleagues will be featured in three sessions at this year’s conference:

Bechtel’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Environmental and Security Ben Souther will be featured during “Corporate Leadership Perspectives” on September 15th.


Bechtel’s Project Director for Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) Brian Hartman will be featured during “EM’s Big Opportunity: Solving Tank Waste at Hanford” on September 15th.

Bechtel’s President and Program Manager, Salado Isolation Mining Contractors Ken Harrawood will be featured during “All Roads Lead to WIPP: The Importance of Disposal to Cleanup” on September 15th.


This year’s conference will take place at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. Bechtel will be Platinum Sponsor at this year’s conference and will be present at booth #1.
