Expanding Cost-Effective Sources of Electricity in Colorado

Bechtel is developing the South Spur Solar project in Colorado, an active state when it comes to growing power demand and a shift to local power generation.

South Spur Solar, located in Kit Carson and Yuma counties, approximately 20 miles north of Burlington, will contribute 158 megawatts of energy once completed. The project offers a new source of economic development through the creation of direct and indirect jobs as well as long-term tax revenue for schools, government services, and public infrastructure. The electricity from South Spur Solar will be delivered to the local power grid, helping diversify Colorado’s energy portfolio.

Experience Offering Sustainable Power Solutions

Developing utility-scale solar power facilities is one of the most efficient ways to diversify the generation matrix with home-grown energy that’s clean, free and abundant. Building on a history of partnering with customers and communities to deliver projects that enable current and future generations to thrive, Bechtel is applying over sixty years of experience in power generation to each one of its projects.

Bechtel helps customers build solar projects in the U.S. and around the world. For example, Bechtel co-developed and built Cutlass Solar in Texas. We look forward to continuing to push the boundaries in this rapidly growing market as we develop more of our own projects and build toward an energy independent future.
