Louisiana LNG

Strengthening Global Energy Supply

Bechtel is the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the Louisiana LNG project in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. Together with Louisiana LNG’s operator, Woodside Energy, we are delivering a state-of-the-art LNG facility that will help meet growing global energy demand while creating jobs, supporting local businesses, and strengthening communities across Southwest Louisiana.

Bechtel is executing the initial development of the project, including the construction of three LNG trains expected to produce a combined 16.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG. Louisiana LNG has a total permitted liquefaction capacity of more than 27 million tonnes per annum, making it one of the largest LNG facilities in the world.

About the Project

Louisiana LNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal with direct access to the U.S. Gulf Coast. The terminal will feature three liquefaction plants, two LNG storage tanks, marine facilities, and supporting infrastructure.

Advancing Construction

Since receiving Full Notice to Proceed in May 2025, the project has advanced from site development to vertical construction and marine infrastructure. Key milestones include installing the first structural steel in Train 1, placing structural foundations, completing Train 1 piling, advancing site civils and marine excavations, and installing marine piles for the LNG loading trestle and berth to support future international LNG exports. Construction is also progressing on two 235,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tanks.
