Society of Women Engineers WE25 Conference

WE25, the Society of Women Engineers’ Annual Conference, is the world’s largest conference for women in engineering and technology. Each year, participants from more than 85 countries gather to exchange ideas, expand networks, and explore innovations shaping the industry. The conference offers professional development, career opportunities, and community for engineers at every stage of their journey.

As part of WE25, the 13th Annual Invent It. Build It. program engages students from historically under-resourced communities to explore STEM careers. Designed to change perceptions of who can be an engineer, the program helps inspire the next generation of innovators while strengthening the future talent pipeline.

Bechtel at SWE 2025

The following Bechtel colleagues will be featured in three sessions at this year’s conference:

Inclusion, Belonging and Safety: A Critical Link

Friday, October 24th at 1:45 PM CT

This presentation explores the link between diversity, inclusion, and improved safety performance. While individuals are often encouraged to “speak up” about unsafe conditions, true progress depends on leaders and organizations fostering psychologically safe environments where everyone feels empowered to do so. By connecting equity, diversity, and inclusion to safety, the session highlights how inclusive leadership can engage broader audiences and strengthen both culture and performance.

Bechtel’s Diversity & Inclusion Manager Gemma L. Whittick, CE IMechE will be presenting “Inclusion, Belonging and Safety: A Critical Link.”

Diverse: a SWE Podcast — Women Engineers in Non-Traditional Roles

Friday, October 24, 2025 at 12:45 PM CT

The session will take place in the WE25 Diverse Podcast Studio (outside General Session Hall, Lobby D).

Bechtel’s Supplier Quality Specialist Josefina Alvarez will be featured on “Diverse: a SWE Podcast — Women Engineers in Non-Traditional Roles.”

Bechtel’s Project Supplier Quality Representative Kira McKay will be featured on “Diverse: a SWE Podcast — Women Engineers in Non-Traditional Roles.”
