Bechtel has been named the top U.S. contractor in 2013 by Engineering News-Record (ENR), a leading publication for the engineering and construction industry. This marks the 15th consecutive year that Bechtel has ranked first on ENR’s Top 400 Contractors list.
In addition, Bechtel ranked number one on the following specialized lists:
- Top 20 Petroleum
- Top 20 Transportation
- Top 20 Power
- Top 50 Contractors Working Abroad

In 2012, Bechtel helped customers safely achieve their goals on hundreds of projects in nearly 40 countries. Colleagues completed major refinery expansions in the United States and Thailand; a large copper concentrator in Peru; and construction of a chemical agent-destruction pilot plant in the United States. New project awards included three new mining-related assignments in Chile; two highly efficient natural gas-fueled combined-cycle power plants in the United States; an additional liquefied natural gas train in Australia; and a master planning services contract for an industrial city in Saudi Arabia.
