Background on Bechtel's Involvement
In 1996, Bechtel and ConocoPhillips collaborated on the initial Atlantic LNG project - the first major LNG project in the Western Hemisphere in more than 25 years. Subsequently, Bechtel continued expanding the Atlantic LNG facility, building Trains 1, 2, and 3. The fourth train is under construction.
The Atlantic LNG facility now produces approximately 3 million tonnes of LNG annually from bountiful natural gas reserves off Trinidad.
