Bechtel at SEMICON West 2025

Chad Cobbley

Bechtel’s Senior Business Development Manager, Manufacturing & Technology Chad Cobbley will speak during the session “Driving Certainty and Speed in Semiconductor Fab Construction” on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10:50am – 11:10am MT.

As the semiconductor industry targets $1 trillion in market value, rapid fab capacity expansion is essential—but increasingly complex. Projects today face tighter budgets, aggressive timelines, and workforce and supply chain constraints.

This session will highlight how Bechtel improves project certainty and performance through centralized project delivery, unified engineering, and the use of integrated technologies such as Digital Twins and 4D scheduling. These tools enhance transparency, reduce total cost, and support future-proof execution models. We will also explore strategies to overcome industry-wide challenges, including workforce development, offsite manufacturing, and programmatic supply chain management. Participants will gain practical insights into managing the scale and complexity of today’s semiconductor fab projects through technology, planning, and execution discipline.

Bechtel’s Manager of Supply Chain, Manufacturing & Technology Kristin Homsi will join the panel “Fab Development and Expansion Success Stories” on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 2:30pm – 3:15pm MT.

Join ATREG, the premier global advisor for semiconductor fab transactions, for a panel discussion on effective strategies for growing semiconductor manufacturing in the United States. As the industry works to expand domestic production, this session will highlight real-world examples from companies who have successfully approached complex facility projects—from greenfield developments to brownfield expansions and strategic facility transitions—to scale their US operations.

Panelists from leading organizations—including Texas Instruments, Robert Bosch, and Bechtel Corporation—will share insights from their experiences with expansion, development, and project execution in the semiconductor space. Topics will include lessons learned from both new facility construction and existing facility optimization, key considerations for different development approaches, and practical advice for companies exploring growth opportunities across the facility development spectrum.

Moderated by ATREG COO Annie Rothrock, this session will provide guidance on navigating due diligence, integration, workforce, and regulatory factors across greenfield, brownfield, and facility transition scenarios. Whether planning new construction, facility conversion, or capacity expansion through existing infrastructure, attendees will gain valuable insights from industry experts who have led major initiatives across various development approaches.
