Copper Copper

Critical to Energy Transition and Urbanization

Our mining and metal expertise enables our customers to deliver the resources essential for global economic growth, drive electrification, advance AI and fuel the green energy transition.

Alongside our customers, we can equip companies and countries with the resources to accommodate growing populations, discover life-changing scientific breakthroughs, and tackle 21st century challenges.

As ore reserves deplete and ore grades decline, Bechtel is supporting our customers with designing and building the critical process infrastructure that will secure the supply of copper for decades to come.

From standard concentrator designs to integrated concentrator, water supply, energy, pipeline, and port solutions, our customers have access to Bechtel’s industry experts with experience in plant design and engineering, constructability, and startup.

Experience Counts

Together, Bechtel and our customers have built the majority of the western world’s copper concentrators, including 10 in the past 15 years.

We have delivered copper projects worldwide for more than 80 years , integrating innovation and quality into the engineering and construction of these modern facilities. We are the leading designer and constructor of high-throughput plants, specializing in the installation of large diameter semi-autogenous (SAG) grinding mills and ball mills.
