Joe St. Julian
General Manager, Water and Pipeline
Joe St. Julian is general manager of Bechtel’s water and pipeline business within the Oil, Gas & Chemicals global business unit. He was elected a principal vice president in 2013.
Joe has nearly 25 years of experience and brings a diverse background in construction, project controls, project management, strategic planning, and commercial management. He has worked in the oil and gas, power, civil, nuclear, and government sectors.
Previously, Joe served as a project manager at the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) in Richland, Washington, a >$15B nuclear waste processing facility which immobilizes radioactive liquid waste through vitrification. Prior to WTP, Joe served as the executive assistant to the president of Bechtel’s government business and as the business manager for Bechtel Jacobs Company, a Bechtel subsidiary contracted by the Department of Energy to remediate and decommission nuclear facilities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Before joining Bechtel in 2005, Joe held various positions at The Shaw Group Inc., including EPC litigation manager, project manager for a 1,200-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant, and corporate director of Project Controls.
Joe holds a master of business administration from Baylor University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kenyon College. He is a certified Six Sigma champion and holds a Bechtel General Management Plan certificate.
