Corporate Manager of Construction
Doug Omichinski is the Bechtel Corporate Manager of Construction. He provides functional leadership for construction activities across all of Bechtel’s business units, projects, and supporting organizations, such as Welding Services, Construction Technology, and Bechtel Equipment Operations. He provides guidance and oversight to ensure the consistency and efficiency of work processes, safety of project operations, and quality of construction deliverables.
Previously, as the project manager at the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant and Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant, Doug led joint-venture teams in designing, constructing, and testing the facilities.
Doug has 38 years of international and domestic experience with Bechtel on 23 large, heavy industrial, construction/engineering projects. After launching his Bechtel career as a controls system design engineer, he soon moved to construction and progressed through field engineering, field supervision, and site management positions on projects in the Power, Mining & Metals, Oil Gas & Chemicals, and Nuclear Security & Environmental (NS&E) business units.
Doug earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and he is currently on the Executive Committee of the Construction Industry Institute. He is a Certified Professional Constructor, Project Management Professional, and Certified Construction Manager. Doug was elected principal vice president in 2015.
