Regional President, Africa
Since 2015, Andrew Patterson has been Bechtel’s regional president for Africa, and responsible for Bechtel’s overall business interest across the continent.
Throughout his 15-year career at Bechtel, Andrew has served various management roles in business development, commercial services, design, construction, and contracts/procurement across the company’s global Infrastructure, Mining & Metals, and Power businesses.
From 2012 to 2015, Andrew was the global sector manager for roads, bridges, and industrial cities for the Infrastructure business line, focusing on executing projects and structuring new projects around the world.
In 2010, Andrew was the commercial manager for the $1 billion Kosovo motorway project. Prior to that he worked in a business development to support projects in Latin America and Europe. He was also part of the construction management team for Bechtel’s first project in Iceland, an aluminum smelter, and supported telecommunication projects in the United States.
In 2016, Andrew was appointed to the President’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa, and in 2017 was appointed to the U.K. Government Infrastructure Board for Africa.
He has a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering management from Oregon State University.
