Bechtel Close to Completion with Australia Pacific LNG First Cargo
Bechtel has announced all three projects on Curtis Island are now operational with Australia Pacific LNG exporting its first cargo. Four of the six LNG trains to be constructed by Bechtel on Curtis Island in Queensland, Australia are now producing LNG with the remaining two trains expected to come online in 2016.

In 2015, Bechtel's Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) project awarded more than $111 million in subcontracts to businesses based in Washington and Oregon and, of that, nearly $90 million to those in Washington’s Tri-Cities of Pasco, Kennewick, and Richland, home to the project’s main offices.

Bechtel today handed over operational control of the Queensland Curtis LNG plant to its customer, QGC, completing the transition from construction to permanent operations. The plant, based on Curtis Island, off the coast of Queensland, Australia, is consistently producing at full capacity.

Bechtel Engages Local Virginia High School Students at “Ethics Day”
Volunteers from Bechtel’s Reston, VA, office engaged with seniors at South Lakes High School during an Ethics Day training program. The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce hosted the event that was supported by several area companies, including Bechtel. Bechtel participants served as table leaders, assisting students as they considered and addressed some of the ethical dilemmas they will be facing in the coming years.
