Bechtel is Awarded Contract to Build New Combined-Cycle Facility in Carroll County, Ohio
Bechtel has been selected by Carroll County Energy LLC, an affiliate of Advanced Power, to build a 700 megawatt natural gas-fired combined-cycle generating facility in Carroll County, Ohio. Bechtel will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and start-up of the Carroll County Energy Facility, which will use advanced emissions-control technology and will be one of the cleanest and most efficient plants in the nation.

Bechtel has been granted permission for commercial use of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) technology by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The permission allows Bechtel to operate UAS technology, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles or drones, on projects in the United States to enhance construction processes within the virtual project delivery approach.

Bechtel Praises Completion of First Step toward Building Vital National Security Facility
Bechtel leaders joined U.S. government officials to mark completion of site readiness work at a key National Nuclear Security Administration site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee — the first step toward the start of construction on the nation’s new facility to safely and securely process uranium for nuclear defense, naval propulsion, and other applications. The Uranium Processing Facility Site Readiness Project was completed on time, $20 million under budget, and surpassed 600 days without a recordable accident or injury.
