    Bechtel and Petrofac partnered to support INJAZ UAE on Innovation Day Camp

    Bechtel announced that it has worked with Petrofac, a leading international provider of oilfield services, and INJAZ United Arab Emirates (UAE) to host a Junior Achievement® (JA) Innovation Day Camp in Dubai. The Innovation Day Camp is part of Bechtel’s Building Future Leaders initiative, which seeks to increase the number of students around the world who benefit from JA’s entrepreneurship and work readiness program.

    Bechtel Hands Over Operating Liquified Natural Gas Plant to QGC in Australia

    Bechtel today handed over operational control of the Queensland Curtis LNG plant to its customer, QGC, completing the transition from construction to permanent operations. The plant, based on Curtis Island, off the coast of Queensland, Australia, is consistently producing at full capacity.

    Bechtel Engages Local Virginia High School Students at “Ethics Day”

    Volunteers from Bechtel’s Reston, VA, office engaged with seniors at South Lakes High School during an Ethics Day training program. The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce hosted the event that was supported by several area companies, including Bechtel. Bechtel participants served as table leaders, assisting students as they considered and addressed some of the ethical dilemmas they will be facing in the coming years.

    Bechtel Wins Prestigious U.K. Employer Award for Diversity

    Bechtel has won one of the top diversity awards in the U.K. The U.S.-based company was presented with the WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Employer Award by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, at a ceremony in London last week, fending off stiff competition. The award recognizes Bechtel’s systematic approach to tackling diversity and inclusion on multiple levels within its organization.

    Bechtel and Chart Partner for Development of Floating LNG Facilities

    Bechtel and Chart Energy & Chemicals, Inc. have signed a long-term agreement to design and build floating LNG (FLNG) process facilities using Chart’s IPSMR® liquefaction technology. Bechtel will have the exclusive right to use Chart’s proprietary liquefaction technology for FLNG facilities, and will only purchase Chart’s proprietary equipment, including brazed aluminum heat exchangers and cold boxes, for facilities designed with IPSMR® technology.

    Bechtel led Project Moves Closer toward Destroying Surplus U.S. Chemical Weapons

    Bechtel, with its partners and the U.S. Department of Defense, today marked the completion of construction of a key plant that will destroy the last remaining stockpile of the nation’s chemical weapons. The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant in Richmond, Kentucky, will now enter a multi-year testing phase where all systems are checked and simulated chemical weapons are taken apart and emptied.

    Bechtel Applauds Successful Licensing of Second Reactor at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant

    Bechtel today applauded the historic decision Thursday by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to grant an operating license to the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Watts Bar Unit 2 in Spring City, Tennessee, the first new nuclear reactor to receive authorization to operate this century in the United States. Bechtel was the primary construction contractor on the completion of Watts Bar Unit 2 and has been working at the site since 2007. The last new nuclear plant to come online in the United States was Watts Bar Unit 1 in 1996.
