The right partner

Our customers’ projects are an investment in the future.

They are delivering the projects of purpose that create lasting positive legacies. Projects that create jobs and grow economies; improve the resiliency of the world's infrastructure; connect communities to resources and opportunity; get us closer to net zero; tackle critical environmental challenges to protect people and the planet; and accelerate progress.

The decarbonization challenge

Energy companies have developed considerable carbon reduction targets to face the climate change challenge head on, but meeting or exceeding the terms of the Paris Climate Agreement can be very complex.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Goals are met by implementing a range of design, technology, construction, and operations solutions.

Accurately determining the cost/benefit impacts when planning a project design or retrofitting an existing facility is key to a successful improvement program.

Bechtel-led Coalition for Decarbonization in Egypt

Bechtel is proud to be leading a Coalition of Energy Transition companies to deliver a program to decarbonize existing onshore oil and gas facilities across Egypt by proposing facility modifications that provide meaningful emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and operating cost savings.

We developed a plan to decarbonize onshore facilities across the country and effectively progress the modification implementation for gas plants, LNG plants, refineries, and petrochemicals facilities. The implementation of the plan has already commenced in Idku cluster with commencement of the first two projects: Shell Idku Power Unification Hub and the Egyptian LNG Zero Routine Flaring study

Accelerating safety progress by executing hazard schools for Egypt

We are establishing the first advanced training center for safety in Ain Sokhna, Egypt. The hazard school, a cooperation between Bechtel, BP, Petrojet, and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, will standardize safe working practices in the petroleum sector across Egypt.

The school will conduct training in accordance with the latest international standards for safety practices while raising the adherence to these standards and promoting the efficiency of technical trades in the surrounding communities.
