Bechtel Takes the Gold for Driving Safety Challenge Online Course

San Francisco, CA - September 28, 2007 Bechtel Corporation announced today that it has received a Brandon Hall Custom Content Gold Award for its Driving Safety Challenge online training course. The Bechtel course teaches driver safety techniques through “real life” hazard simulations. The aim is to improve driving skills of Bechtel employees, especially those who spend some of their working day in a vehicle, by increasing their awareness of how to react effectively to challenges on the road.

The course, developed with co-winner InterWorks, provides a virtual trip to and from work, which exposes users to likely driving scenarios and hazards. Responses to situations on the driving route are scored positively if safe and negatively if risky. Judges on the Brandon Hall expert panel commented on the application’s ease of use and highly interactive presentation.

“We are proud that Brandon Hall has honored the Driving Safety Challenge, a training program that exemplifies Bechtel’s longstanding commitment to zero accidents,” said Kevin Berg, manager of Bechtel’s safety programs. “At Bechtel, we offer all available resources to create a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.”

Brandon Hall Research has highlighted outstanding educational content, technologies, and services for 15 years. The Brandon Hall Innovations in Learning Conference gave awards to company courses in six categories.
