Alcoa, the world's leading producer and manager of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum and alumina facilities, today announced the opening of a new 280,000 metric ton per year anode plant in Mosjøen, Norway. The facility, built by Bechtel, will produce anodes for Alcoa’s Fjarðaál aluminum smelter in Iceland (also built by Bechtel) and the Mosjøen aluminum smelter in Norway.
