Bechtel has won a contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide engineering, construction, and support services to the Defense Department and other federal agencies on missions around the world.
U.S. Air Force Awards Contract to Bechtel
The work, which falls under the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program, may include general services, disaster response and recovery, military operations not involving combat, and anti-terrorist operations. Bechtel is one of six companies selected to participate in the 10-year, $10 billion program.
Bechtel has a long history of supporting the U.S. government on short notice. Currently, the company is providing temporary housing for tens of thousands of people in Mississippi whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
