Khrc Officially Inaugurated The Testing Of The New Korea High Speed Rail Ktx

December 16, 1999 The Korea High Speed Rail Construction Authority (KHRC) officially inaugurated the testing of the new Korea High Speed Rail KTX (Korea Train Express) today. The new high-speed trains will operate at a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour. During today's successful trial runs, speeds were clocked at a test limit of just over 200 kilometers per hour. President Kim Dae-jung was joined by overseas and Korean officials at the project's test track in the countryside south of Seoul to observe the tests. Bechtel is working with KHRC as a part of the Integrated Project Management Organization on the Korea High Speed Rail Project.
