    Bechtel Completes Major Power Transmission Project in Canada

    Bechtel announced today the company has completed the Hanna Region Transmission Development (HRTD) project on schedule and under budget. The project to expand and upgrade ATCO Electric’s electrical transmission system and infrastructure in Alberta included stringing 219 miles (353 kilometers) of 240 kilovolt (kV) and 144 kV transmission lines, constructing more than 1,200 new transmission towers, and building six new substations and upgrading twelve substations.

    Bechtel-Led Consortium Selected for Multi-Billion Dollar Rail Project in Saudi Arabia

    A consortium led by Bechtel has received a letter of award from the High Commission for the Development of ArRiyadh to design and build two rail lines of the Riyadh Metro network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The team will be responsible for the approximately $10 billion development of Lines 1 and 2, which will be part of the six-line metro system that will form the backbone of Riyadh’s public transportation network. The contract is expected to be finalized next month.

    Honors for Innovations at NNSA Sites Managed by Bechtel Partnerships

    Bechtel announced today that researchers from three National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) sites managed and operated by Bechtel partnerships have received nine 2013 R&D 100 Awards. Known as the “Oscars of Innovation,” the R&D 100 Awards are given by R&D Magazine to recognize the top 100 technology products of the year.

    Bechtel to Provide Project Management Services for Design and Construction of Petrochemical Complex

    Bechtel announced today that the company was selected in April by the Qatar Petroleum – Qatar Petrochemical Company partnership (QP-QAPCO) to provide project management services for construction of the Al Sejeel mega-petrochemical complex in Ras Laffan, Qatar. Bechtel will provide project management services over the course of the project starting with the front-end engineering design phase to ensure the quality, safe, and timely construction of the project.

    Bechtel Wins Contract for Liquefied Natural Gas Facility in Canada

    Bechtel Corporation today announced it has been selected by Pacific NorthWest LNG to perform front end engineering and design (FEED) for a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in British Columbia, Canada. The FEED covers the gas liquefaction plant, LNG storage tanks, and marine infrastructure that will allow for gas exports. The facility will be located on Lelu Island within the District of Port Edward on land administered by the Prince Rupert Port Authority.

    Bechtel Completes U.S. Missile Defense Project

    Bechtel announced today the company has successfully completed design and construction of missile silos and fields vital to the security of the United States. The work was completed on schedule and within budget. The work was done under the U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program, which aims to protect the U.S. from long-range ballistic missile attacks.

    Bechtel Awarded EPC Contract for Nuclear Project

    Bechtel has been awarded a contract to provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for replacing three steam generators at Unit 2 of FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company’s (FENOC) Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station in Shippingport, Pennsylvania. Bechtel replaced three steam generators at Beaver Valley Unit 1 in 2006.

    Bechtel and its partner Enka have won an ENR Global Best Projects Award for the Kosovo Motorway project. The project took the top honor in the roads and highways category. The awards are given by Engineering News-Record (ENR), a leading publication that covers the engineering and construction industry. The awards recognize projects for their safe and innovative solutions to design and building challenges, international teamwork, contribution to industry and the community, as well as quality of design and construction work.

    Bechtel Announces 2012 Business Results

    Bechtel today announced business results for 2012 that demonstrate the company’s continued financial strength and solid performance across multiple industries. Bechtel had revenue of $37.9 billion, up 15 percent from the previous year, and new contract awards of $23.9 billion, down from the previous year’s unprecedented performance of $53 billion. Bechtel ended the year with project backlog of $92 billion.
