Bechtel Receives Highest Grade in Study of Anti-Corruption Programs

Bechtel received the top grade in Transparency International UK’s (TI-UK) Defence Companies Anti-Corruption Index 2015, which measures the transparency and quality of ethics and anti-corruption programs of 163 defense companies from 47 countries. Bechtel is one of only four companies that received the highest grade in the index, which ranked the firms from band A (highest) to F (lowest) using publicly available information. 

Bechtel Sends Nine High School Robotic Teams to FIRST® Championship in St. Louis

Nine teams sponsored by Bechtel and mentored by employee volunteers are competing in the FIRST® Championship April 22-25, 2015, in St. Louis, Mo. FIRST® is a global nonprofit that runs four robotics programs for young people between the ages of 5 to 18. The programs offer real-world engineering experience and inspire students to pursue education and career paths in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Bechtel announced that is has been named one of "America's Best Employers for 2015" according to a new listing by Forbes magazine. The rankings are derived from an independent survey of more than 20,000 employees across the United States who would recommend their employer or any other employers in their industry to potential employees.

Bechtel Plant Moves to Gas-fired Electricity

Bechtel today announced that it has reached a significant milestone at the liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant it is building on Curtis Island, Australia, for Santos GLNG. The first of six gas turbine generators (GTG) has become operational, producing power for the site, a critical step toward production of LNG. 

Bechtel Selected to Deliver Spadina Subway Extension in Toronto

Bechtel has been awarded a contract to work with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to deliver the Spadina subway extension in Toronto, Canada.  Bechtel will provide program management services as part of an integrated delivery team with the TTC. 

Bechtel is Awarded Contract to Build New Combined-Cycle Facility in Carroll County, Ohio

Bechtel has been selected by Carroll County Energy LLC, an affiliate of Advanced Power, to build a 700 megawatt natural gas-fired combined-cycle generating facility in Carroll County, Ohio.  Bechtel will be responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and start-up of the Carroll County Energy Facility, which will use advanced emissions-control technology and will be one of the cleanest and most efficient plants in the nation.

Bechtel Among First Companies to Use Unmanned Aircraft System Technology in Construction

Bechtel has been granted permission for commercial use of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) technology by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The permission allows Bechtel to operate UAS technology, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles or drones, on projects in the United States to enhance construction processes within the virtual project delivery approach.
