Safety Innovation Award for Los Alamos Laboratory

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) recently received the U.S. Department of Energy Voluntary Protection Program’s Innovation Award for its “best-in-class” safety education program of videos, flyers, and posters. The award recognizes LANL for outstanding industry performance and leadership in promoting the Voluntary Protection Program principles. Read the announcement.

LANL’s program, called Safety Short, promotes lab workers’ well-being on and off the job. Two of the program’s videos, “Being Human – What Happens Before Mistakes?” and “Stairs and Handrails,” also earned the 2010 Telly Awards.
