Networx Enterprise is a companion contract to Networx Universal, awarded to the AT&T team in March. Under the Networx Enterprise contract, Bechtel National will work with AT&T to compete for Internet Protocol (IP), optical and wireless services to specific geographic regions served by federal government agencies. Bechtel National will provide services similar to those offered under Networx Universal. These include engineering, procurement, construction, and project management.
"We are excited about the opportunities that Networx provides us as part of the AT&T team to support the U.S. government's effort to transform its worldwide telecommunications system," said Jim Payne, president of Federal Telecoms, Bechtel National. "We look forward to drawing on our extensive experience in successfully deploying complex communications infrastructure in support of task order work awarded to AT&T."
The AT&T Networx team brings together industry-leading networking and IT capabilities, which also includes Northrop Grumman Information Technology of McLean, Va.; EDS of Herndon, Va.; GTSI Corp. of Chantilly, Va.; SRA International, Inc., of Fairfax, Va.; and Global Crossing of Florham Park, N.J.
Networx Enterprise is an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a potential value of $20 billion over the next 10 years. Networx will replace the expiring GSA FTS2001 and FTS2001 Crossover contract vehicles. The ID/IQ contract gives AT&T, Bechtel, its teammates, and others the right to compete for specific task orders within the scope of the Networx Enterprise contract. Networx Enterprise does not require contractors to provide services to as many locations.
