InterGen North America announced that Steve Weyel has been named as President of InterGen North America. InterGen North America was created to develop, finance, acquire, own, and operate large-scale independent power projects (IPPs) and co-generation facilities in the United States and Canada. Based in Houston, InterGen North America is owned by Shell and Bechtel Enterprises.

The U.S. Department of Energy announced today the selection of Bechtel B&W Idaho as the new management and operations contractor for the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory located in Southeastern Idaho."We're eagerly looking forward to continuing our partnership with the local community and the INEEL workforce," said Dr. Bernard Meyers, President and General Manager of Bechtel B&W Idaho. The contract begins Oct. 1 and will run until September 30, 2004.

Leonard Berestov, an 18-year Bechtel veteran who currently heads up the company's business integration activities in Ukraine, has been elected a full member of the prestigious Ukrainian Academy of Construction Science.An Academy spokesperson said Berestov's election to the organization was in recognition of his authorship of more than 30 published articles in the fields of construction technology and management, and in acknowledgment of 25 years of contributions he has made to Ukraine's construction industry.

Mexico's Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) has announced that InterGen Aztec Energy VIII B.V., an affiliate of InterGen, has been awarded a contract for the El Sauz power project. The natural gas-fired combined cycle plant will be built with a capacity of 700 megawatts (ISO), 495 megawatts with 85% of the power contracted to CFE and the remaining power to be delivered to industrial consumers in the region.

Georganne Proctor has been elected to the board of directors of Bechtel Group, Inc.Based in San Francisco, Proctor, 42 is Bechtel's chief financial officer. She began her career at Bechtel in 1982 with the company's financing services operation. In 1989, she transferred to Bechtel's information technology operations, handling a variety of strategic planning, finance, and accounting assignments. From 1991 to 1994, she held a series of finance positions in the Disney organization, including director of project and division finance for Walt Disney Imagineering. She returned to Bechtel in 1994 as chief financial officer for Bechtel Enterprises, the company's project development, financing, and ownership arm. Proctor was named Bechtel Group, Inc.'s chief financial officer in 1997.

Bechtel's worldwide nuclear and civil business units also report to him.

Bechtel Corporation announced that Scott Ogilvie has been elected a senior vice president.Based in Frederick, Maryland, Ogilvie, 45, is president of Bechtel's Fossil Power unit, responsible for overseeing the building of coal- and gas-fired electrical generating stations worldwide. Since joining Bechtel in 1976, Ogilvie has established a broad background in the power industry, including project development, project controls, and project management. From 1995 to 1998, he led Bechtel's power unit in the Asia Pacific region. Ogilvie became president of Bechtel's Fossil Power unit in December 1998.
