Khrc Officially Inaugurated The Testing Of The New Korea High Speed Rail Ktx

The Korea High Speed Rail Construction Authority (KHRC) officially inaugurated the testing of the new Korea High Speed Rail KTX (Korea Train Express) today. The new high-speed trains will operate at a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour. During today's successful trial runs, speeds were clocked at a test limit of just over 200 kilometers per hour. President Kim Dae-jung was joined by overseas and Korean officials at the project's test track in the countryside south of Seoul to observe the tests. Bechtel is working with KHRC as a part of the Integrated Project Management Organization on the Korea High Speed Rail Project.

American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), Bechtel Enterprises Holdings, Inc. and Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution, Inc. announced that they have formed a joint venture company to provide industrial power quality solutions and transmission network enhancements.The new company, Lectrix LLC, will provide unique service guarantees to power quality customers, compensating the companies for losses incurred if power quality problems create production disruptions.
