InterGen achieved financial close of the $480 million credit facilities for the Sidi Krir 3&4 power plant, a 685 megawatt natural gas-fired power complex. Sidi Krir 3&4, to be built 30 kilometers west of Alexandria, is Egypt's first Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) power project and will be one of the largest private power stations in the Middle East. InterGen is an international power generation and related energy infrastructure company jointly owned by Shell Generating Limited and Bechtel Enterprises Holdings, Inc.

Webvan Group, Inc., operator of the online grocery and drug megastore, today announced a strategic alliance with Bechtel to accelerate the national expansion of its e-commerce infrastructure. With this alliance, Bechtel will have exclusive responsibility for replicating Webvan's distribution and delivery infrastructure beginning with 26 new markets over the next 24 months.
