Pennsylvania NatGas-Fired Power Plant to Break Ground in 2018

The plant is to be sited on a 68-acre former rail yard site in Renovo, PA. Construction is expected to employ up to 500 people, with another 30 employed full-time after it enters service. Construction is expected to take more than two years. Renovo Energy plans to sell electricity into the wholesale market.

U.S. Navy Commissions New Nuclear Ship

Gerald R Ford (CVN 78) is the lead ship in the Ford-class of aircraft carrier, the US Navy's first new class in more than 40 years, and will begin the phased replacement of Nimitz-class carriers. It is named after the 38th president of the USA, who served as a lieutenant commander in the US Navy.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized five federal agencies for "going green" at their Bay Area facilities, including Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for cutting paper usage in half.
