Bechtel’s Impact Report

Bechtel Featured in Washington Business Journal

Bechtel is featured in the latest edition of the Washington Business Journal (WBJ), a leading weekly business periodical for the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Reporter, Carolyn M. Proctor interviewed several Bechtel leaders, including our Chairman and CEO, Brendan Bechtel, the fifth-generation family leader, and talked about our company’s rich history of positively engaging in the communities where we work and live, the projects we build for our customers that contribute to local economies, and opportunities for good and challenging work.

Bechtel is also recognized as the second largest private employer in the D.C. region, noting the company’s attraction to the talent-rich workforce in the area, fed by nearby top-tier engineering programs at the University of Maryland, Georgetown University, Virginia Tech, and the University of Virginia.

Since 2011, when Reston became home to our operational headquarters and eventually our global headquarters in June 2018, more than 1,300 Bechtel colleagues have enjoyed working and living among the diverse and family-friendly communities. Today we celebrate our 120th anniversary and the art of the possible that transcends the complex projects Bechtel delivers for the next century.
