Manager of Internal Audit
Steve Kuxhausen manages the Internal Audit function for Bechtel's non-defense global operations. He oversees a team of auditors who assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies for Bechtel projects, offices, and joint venture operations. The Internal Audit group also performs special investigations for the Legal Department.
Steve brings 38 years of international accounting, finance, tax, and commercial experience that includes structuring and negotiating aspects of some of the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG), refining, chemical, and pipeline projects. He has worked on proposals and execution on more than 36 LNG production trains across the globe throughout his career.
Prior to his current role, Steve was Chief Financial Officer for Bechtel's Infrastructure global business unit for two years and for the Oil, Gas and Chemicals (OG&C) global business unit for over ten years. He was also commercial manager for OG&C, providing input into policy letters, proposals, contract negotiations, joint venture arrangements, and project execution issues. Steve was elected a principal vice president in 2008.
Prior to joining Bechtel in 2003, Steve served as chief accounting officer and corporate controller, vice president of finance and shared services, finance director, tax director, and senior international tax manager at KBR and its predecessor M.W. Kellogg. He spent his early career at Price Waterhouse, where he was a senior tax manager, management consultant and auditor. He also worked for two commercial banks.
Steve earned an MBA degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. He holds four professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant.
