Global Sector Lead, Civil
Shawn is currently the manager of construction for the Infrastructure global business unit. He is also the Civil sector lead. In this role, he will work closely with the manager of functions in infrastructure to ensure that functional management is able to customize support to the types of work performed in the Civil sector (motorways, dams, bridges, port/marine, and tunnels). As sector lead, he is also responsible for performing marketing strategies in support of the regional general managers.
Shawn has over 20 years of experience in the lump sum, direct hire construction business. He has a strong background in heavy civil projects, specializing in bridge projects including cable stay, suspension and precast segmental. Recently, he served as the viaducts delivery director on the Riyadh Metro Project and has also held key roles on rail, bridge, and motorway projects, including Dulles Corridor Metrorail project, the Tacoma Narrows bridge project and the Central Artery/Tunnel project.
Shawn’s demonstrated experience includes cable-stayed and suspension bridge construction, cold weather construction in marine environments, FHWA regulation and compliance, precast concrete operations, off-shore erection, stay cable installation and tensioning, cable spinning, beam and deck erection, as well as heavy civil work. In addition, Shawn is well versed in all aspects of project management, including collaborating with major JV partners, engaging with multiple stakeholders, and leading highly performing multidisciplinary teams on challenging direct-hire projects.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from University of New Brunswick and is a professional engineer in Prince Edward Island, Canada. He is also a member of the steering committee for safety task force, innovation task force, construction quality, and sustainability.
In 2018, Shawn was elected principal vice president.
