President, Bechtel Enterprises
Eric Parker is president, Bechtel Enterprises, Inc., a position to which he was promoted in October 2014. Bechtel Enterprises (BEn) is Bechtel’s finance, development, and ownership arm.
For the previous 10 years, Eric was a managing director of Bechtel Enterprises, responsible for Bechtel Financing Services, Inc. He was elected a principal vice president of Bechtel in 2000.
Eric joined Bechtel Financing Services in 1987. He worked in a variety of financing services roles. These included financial analysis and structuring of power-plant projects, arranging commercial bank and export-credit financing for energy projects, and helping develop joint-venture companies.
In 1997, Eric moved to Singapore as associate managing director of BEn. He led BEn’s activities in Southeast Asia, providing development and financing services. He was promoted to managing director in 2000. He contributed his financing expertise to such huge undertakings as the CSPC Nanhai petrochemicals complex in China.
Eric subsequently moved to London, where he led BEn’s activities in Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Southwest Asia, including sourcing financing for Bechtel’s road projects in Eastern Europe.
He returned to San Francisco as head of Bechtel Financing Services in 2004, and during his tenure, the organization completed a host of sales, restructurings, and asset purchases.
Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of California at Davis and earned a master’s degree of business administration from Harvard Business School in Massachusetts.
