Bechtel to Design and Build a Combined-Cycle Power Plant in Virginia
Bechtel announced that the company is part of a consortium awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction contract to build a natural gas-fueled, combined-cycle power plant in Loudoun County, Virginia. The Stonewall Energy Project, a 778-megawatt facility with advanced emissions-control technology, will be one of the cleanest and most efficient plants in the nation. This will be the fourth power plant the Bechtel-Siemens consortium has built for Panda Power Funds.

Bechtel Offered Key Contracts for Groundbreaking UK Military Support Program
The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) today announced it has offered Bechtel two contracts to become a managed-service provider as part of its effort to transform the delivery of military support services. Bechtel will drive improvements in purchasing, project management, and other key equipment programs for the UK’s naval and air forces through MOD’s Defence Equipment and Support organization.

Bechtel Selected for Oil Production Facility Expansion Project in Kazakhstan
Bechtel has been awarded a contract to provide engineering, procurement, and construction services to build four crude-oil storage tanks at the TengizChevroil oil production facility in Tengiz, Kazakhstan. The company also will modernize the fire and gas detection systems across the entire crude tank farm. TengizChevroil is a joint venture of Chevron, ExxonMobil, KazMunayGas, and LukArco.

Bechtel Begins Construction on Expanded Canadian Liquefied Natural Gas Facility
Bechtel started construction at the Tilbury Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility in British Columbia. FortisBC, the owner and operator of the facility, awarded Bechtel an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to expand its Tilbury facility, which will include a new 1-billion-cubic-foot full-containment LNG storage tank. The company also is responsible for the startup and commissioning of the new liquefaction facility.
