Company showcases how it delivers projects for its customers matters as much as what it delivers.

Bechtel, a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction, today released its 2017 Sustainability Report, which summarizes the results of the company’s commitment to putting sustainability at the heart of how it delivers extraordinary projects for its customers. The report also outlines the progress Bechtel made toward achieving its ambitious 2030 Sustainability Goals.

Featured results include:

  • Reusing treated industrial wastewater to develop a natural-carbon-offset system for the Gujarat refinery project in India.
  • Expanding access to new business opportunities for nearly a dozen Aboriginal firms at the Amrun bauxite mine project in Australia.
  • Generating power for homes and businesses from the Stonewall combined cycle gas power plant in Virginia without using additional fuel or producing more emissions.
  • Applying a “circular approach” to minimize waste by maximizing the reuse of food, plastics, wood, and other materials at the Wheatstone liquefied natural gas project in Australia.

Bechtel is testing and incorporating new technologies, data, and analytics to deliver smarter, safer, greener, and more cost-efficient projects for its customers and society. The successful connection between innovation and sustainability is also explored in the report.
