Four Winners Recognized for Excellence at Annual Supply Chain Recognition Awards Event

RESTON, Virginia - May 8, 2017

Bechtel, a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction, today recognized several companies for excellence in performing nuclear, national security, and environmental cleanup work in 2016.  The four suppliers and subcontractors were honored at Bechtel’s annual Supply Chain Recognition awards event for providing superior performance while helping the company deliver mission excellence for its customers.

“We could not accomplish what we do without our subcontractors and suppliers,” said Barbara Rusinko, president of Bechtel’s Nuclear, Security & Environmental global business unit. “The work is challenging, highly technical, and is often first-of-a-kind.”

Of the more than two dozen nominees, recipients of the top awards are:

  • Large Business Subcontractor of the Year – Porvair Filtration Group Inc., for work supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant project near Richland, Washington
  • Small Business Subcontractor of the Year – Diani Building Corp., for work supporting Kwajalein Range Services LLC at the Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site in the Marshall Islands
  • Large Business Supplier of the Year – Gutor Electric Inc, for work supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant
  • Small Business Supplier of the Year – Springs Fabrication Inc. Advanced Technology Group, for work supporting Los Alamos National Security LLC in Los Alamos, New Mexico

Eric Duvekot, a senior project engineer for Porvair’s work on a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration system at the Waste Treatment Plant, said working with Bechtel has been rewarding and has exposed the company to new opportunities in the nuclear industry. “The culture is contagious,” Duvekot said. “We adopted the ideals Bechtel put forth. We were considered co-equals on this project.”
