Bechtel Recognizes Companies for Superior Performance
Subcontractors and Suppliers Honored for Commitment to Excellence and Quality
Bechtel has recognized 35 companies for outstanding work on government and commercial projects with its annual Supply Chain Recognition Awards. The awards honor the subcontractors and suppliers that supported Bechtel‘s Nuclear, Security & Environmental (NS&E) global business unit operations during 2015.
Award recipients include:
Large Business Subcontractor of the Year – Hartman Walsh Industrial Services, for work at the Pueblo and Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plants in Colorado and Kentucky, respectively
Small Business Subcontractor of the Year – BCI Construction USA, Inc. for work supporting the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant
Large Business Supplier of the Year – Air Conditioning Parts & Equipment of MS, for service to Kwajalein Range Services at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site, Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands
Small Business Supplier of the Year – Greenberry Industrial, for work supporting the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant in Washington state.
“The support of our subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors is critical to the work we do. They are an essential part of our team and perform difficult work in challenging environments,” said Barbara Rusinko, president of Bechtel’s government services company, Bechtel National, Inc. “These awards recognize the companies that met our high standards for quality and who went above and beyond for mission delivery.”
Companies were evaluated on overall performance; the ability to deliver quality services or supplies on time; the ability to work collaboratively to meet milestones; and meeting or exceeding project expectations in aspects of safety, construction performance, technical expertise, and environmental compliance.
Bechtel NS&E is a leading provider to U.S. and other governments, and the commercial nuclear power industry. Our work includes many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, construction, environmental restoration, defense, energy, and national security.
Bechtel and its affiliates on government projects have purchased more than $1 billion per year in goods and services from small businesses for the past several years. Across the enterprise, Bechtel purchased more than $17 billion from all suppliers in 2014, the latest year available. These partnerships spur economic development in the communities where our employees live and work and help sustain the skills needed for future work.
