From New Delhi to Santiago and from London to Washington State, Bechtel marked its third annual Global Stewardship Month by reaching out to more than 5,500 students worldwide. The company’s efforts focused on inspiring the next generation of engineers and on using small-scale engineering projects to improve quality of life for residents of under-developed communities around the world.

Bechtel Praises Completion of First Step toward Building Vital National Security Facility

Bechtel leaders joined U.S. government officials to mark completion of site readiness work at a key National Nuclear Security Administration site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee — the first step toward the start of construction on the nation’s new facility to safely and securely process uranium for nuclear defense, naval propulsion, and other applications. The Uranium Processing Facility Site Readiness Project was completed on time, $20 million under budget, and surpassed 600 days without a recordable accident or injury.

Legal Momentum leads action for the legal rights of women through education and advocacy. The award recognizes women who have achieved distinction in the legal, business, and public services professions.

Bechtel-affiliated teams at the Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant project in Kentucky and Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico were recently recognized for excellence in safety with Voluntary Protection Program Star Status—the highest honor for worksite-based safety and health systems.
