Bechtel Named a Military Friendly Employer
Honor Recognizes Company for Programs and Policies for Veterans and Reservists
RESTON, November 11, 2014—Bechtel announced today that the company has once again earned the Military Friendly Employer® title conferred by Victory Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines. The title is awarded to companies that demonstrate a commitment to transitioning military personnel, veterans, U.S. National Guard members, and military reservists through hiring and training programs as well as company policies.
“The 2015 Military Friendly Employers represent the preeminent tier of companies with strong military recruitment programs and meaningful job opportunities for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment,” said Sean Collins, vice president for publisher Victory Media and a nine-year U.S. Navy veteran. “Our Military Friendly Employers constitute the group of companies actually moving the needle and hiring from the military community. The 2015 Military Friendly Employers reported hiring over 117,000 service members and spouses over the last 12 months, representing an average of 14 percent of total new hires.”
Bechtel has a long history of supporting service members and veterans around the world. The company is actively engaged in a construction-industry initiative to hire 100,000 military veterans and has supported programs such as Helmets to Hardhats, an organization that fosters career opportunities in the construction industry for military personnel, and Network of Champions, a consortium of leading companies that help severely injured service members and their families identify career opportunities.

Companies earn the Military Friendly Employer title based on the results of a data-driven survey. The survey data was independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based on the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media, whose publications are important resources for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment.
