Bechtel Provides Views on State of U.S. Environmental Cleanup Work

Company Experts to Speak at Decision Makers’ Forum

Bechtel announced today five of its leading authorities on environmental cleanup will share their insights at the 24th Annual Weapons Complex Monitor Waste Management & Cleanup Decision Makers’ Forum. The event takes place this week in Amelia Island, Florida.The forum brings together senior representatives from Congress, federal agencies, including the Department of Energy, state governments, and major environmental cleanup contractors. The theme for this year’s conference is "Raising the Bar on Project Performance to Address Long-Term Challenge."

Bechtel’s featured speakers at the forum are:

Frank Russo, Bechtel’s project director of the Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) project. Russo will serve as the keynote speaker at a plenary session titled “The Hanford Waste Treatment Plant and the Future of the DOE Cleanup Program. Bechtel manager Carl Strock, who will share insights at the “Managing Risk in the DOE Complex: What Changes in Risk-Sharing Will Mean for DOE and its Contractors” roundtable.Ward Sproat, Bechtel’s deputy project director at WTP. He will participate in the roundtable discussion “Improving Safety Oversight: Balancing DNFSB, HSS, and the Program Offices and the Sites." Bechtel manager Michael Graham, who will participate in the roundtable “Industry Perspectives on Maintaining Cleanup Progress in Face of New Fiscal Realities." Rick Kacich, Bechtel’s assistant project director for safety integration at WTP. Kacich will participate in the roundtable “Improving Integration among High-Level Waste Tank, Treatment Projects" Bechtel is a leader in environmental cleanup and restoration of former nuclear weapon production sites. It has more than three decades of experience successfully carrying out cleanup, remediation, and closure of high-level and transuranic waste facilities across the United States and internationally.
