Bechtel Efforts House 95,000 Hurricane Victims in Mississippi

Jackson, Mississippi - February 17, 2006 95,000 Mississippi residents displaced by Hurricane Katrina are now living in nearly 35,000 emergency housing units installed and readied for occupancy by Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI) under contract to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

"We are pleased to have helped FEMA house so many Mississippians," said Paul Divjak, BNI's program manager. "Federal and state officials have said that we are housing people at a record rate, allowing hurricane victims to rebuild their lives faster than ever before."
