Bechtel-Technip Joint Venture Wins Khursaniyah Gas Plant Project

March 16, 2005 A Bechtel-Technip joint venture was awarded a contract March 16 by Saudi Aramco to build new natural gas processing facilities at Khursaniyah, near Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province.

Bechtel-Technip will provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup services for Saudi Aramco's Khursaniyah Gas Plant, including two gas-conditioning trains as well as ethane and natural gas liquids recovery units. The complex will process up to 1 billion standard cubic feet (28.3 million cubic meters) per day of natural gas, able to produce 550 million standard cubic feet (15.6 million cubic meters) per day of sales gas, 240,000 barrels per day of ethane and natural gas liquids, and 1,800 metric tons per day of sulfur.

The complex will process natural gas from three onshore fields in the Eastern Province: Abu Hadriya, Fadhili, and Khursaniyah.
