Bechtel Offshore Names New Commercial Manager

April 19, 1998 Bechtel has named Kevin Jordan commercial manager for the company's offshore business. Based in London, Jordan is responsible for all commercial aspects of the company's offshore work, including the development of new joint ventures and partnerships.

Jordan has 20 years' experience in the offshore industry with Bechtel and, previously, with J. Ray McDermott, British Petroleum Co., and Single Buoy Moorings, Inc. A mechanical engineer with a master's degree in business administration, Jordan has been active throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, and has played a key role in mergers and acquisitions within the offshore business.

Bechtel's offshore experience dates to 1952, when the company installed one of the world's first open-sea oil pipelines between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Current offshore assignments include Pemex's Cantarell project in the Gulf of Mexico, where Bechtel is providing project management, engineering, procurement, and construction services for one of the world's largest offshore jobs.
